I loved the game. They completely revamped combat system and the way you collect different items throughout the game. I am exploring everything, not just the direction I go but the things I cook, the people I talk to, the weapons I use. Breath of the Wild: WHICH IS BETTER? Breaking down why Breath of the Wild is highly overrated It's been just over five months since The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild opened to a landslide of perfect scores from the media at large. -cooking is simple, but fun. Though I am not saying that it is a bad game, it's a great game. I think that's my problem though, not the game's. BotW 2 looks to have the same overworld and engine as the first game, so it's almost certainly going to have a similar open-world nature, but there could still potentially be room for things like traditional dungeons, more permanent items, and a more expansive story. Everyone who play other games say it’s an okay game but there’s much better ones out there (most of them not on Nintendo), [–]ClutchHunter 0 points1 point2 points 10 months ago (0 children). At least you can make an argument for BotW since it's so ambitious and different, but with SMO you can't, that one is 100% overrated and it's not even one of the best Mario games. BotW has much more in common with franchise entries like A Link to the Past, the original Legend of Zelda, and the handheld games (specifically Oracles comes to mind) and than it does with the 3D console titles. Nobody cares if you think its overrated go back to reddit you s***poster. But there's always a chance that they release a classic style game along side Botw 2. I also like how the game is very clearly designed to be played blind, much like Dark Souls. ._. assassins creed has climbing... but all the work (up until origins/odyssey) is done on a patchwork frame. All we have to do is fire a bunch of Bomb arrows into its face and it dies. i dream of a time where the game gets ported with actual 1080p and rock-solid framerate. I do think BOTW is a much needed fresh air for the series, but I do not think it is the masterpiece that people make it out to be. Is BOTW overrated? To each their own, right?). I've put 315 hours in and still loving it. It isn't better. Anybody know where I can get some good Xbox 360 controllers? If not, then maybe you just don't like open world games. [–]equalsolstice 29 points30 points31 points 10 months ago (0 children), Your a brave person going after a sacred cow, For what it's worth I feel the same way lol, I actually hated the first five hours and almost gave up on it but after I got a hang of cooking and the weapon system mostly I too felt like it's a solid 7, great game but not the perfect title it's known as, What I think elevates it is it's ability to use mystery to an effect that games haven't done in many many years. The game being open-world is neat on paper but in practice it is also very modular and segmented because you can't go 50 meters without stumbling over another mini-challenge-dungeon. The weapon degradation system is stupid. -the combat (which i personally loved), is easy, too easy late game, and weapon durability, though fun and interesting, can lead to frustration mid combat. [–]Jack8680 0 points1 point2 points 10 months ago (0 children). botw was an open-world game that felt open world, not just because of the level design, but the fact that it offers many ways to play and things to do. Yes it did cool things. I have no idea how this game got anywhere close to the praise it actually got. It still is an amazing game and one of the best and well executed open worlds. The botw sub has thread after thread of amazing things that honestly I don't know if the devs even intended lol. Much like Red Dead Redemption II and GTA V are overrated. You could spot important buildings and findings from a distance due to the environment’s low detail hillsides. The fact that it is so open and many areas are "empty" is what makes it feel more natural and great.
