We took our first 30 fish on slabs, then switched over and put our last 30 fish in the boat primarily on bladebaits (which is something John D. specifically wanted me to give him a refresher on). Since Ronnie is primarily interested in putting his electronics to work to fish for largemouth bass in tournament settings, we spent a little more time than I normally would anytime we found fish near woody cover, as such habitat normally yields a better chance of attracting largemouth bass. Not to say you can't use your ski boat or fishing rig, rather I'm trying to say there are great areas to see under your own power. Although we did catch bass this morning, I believe the biggest eye-opener for these experienced bass anglers was the effective use of multiple forms of sonar to find, position on, then effectively fish for fish of several species, as well as seeing the intricacies of really working a slab vertically, based on fish behavior.
